Overview

OraSkul ("we", "our", or "us") is a school management ERP platform developed and operated in India. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all schools, administrators, teachers, students, and parents who use our platform.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using OraSkul, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Data We Collect

Information provided by the school

• School name, address, contact details, and logo
• Administrator and principal name and contact information
• Academic session and class structure configuration
• Subject and exam configuration details

Student information

• Student name, date of birth, gender, and admission details
• Parent or guardian name and contact number
• Class, section, and session enrollment records
• Fee payment records and receipt history
• Academic result and marks data uploaded by teachers

Teacher and staff information

• Name, contact number, and email address
• Subject and class assignments
• Result upload activity and login timestamps

Technical and usage data

• Browser type, device type, and IP address (for security logging only)
• Pages visited and features used within the platform
• Error logs to help us fix issues

How We Use Your Data

We use the data collected solely to operate and improve OraSkul. Specifically:

• To provide school management features — student records, fee management, result processing, and report generation
• To generate fee receipts, marksheets, and other school documents
• To enable teacher login and subject-wise result upload
• To allow administrators and principals to manage their school
• To diagnose technical issues and improve platform stability
• To respond to your support requests or demo enquiries

We do not use student or school data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose other than providing the service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your school's data with any third party for commercial purposes. Period.

Data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• With your consent: If you explicitly request us to share data (e.g., for migration or integration).
• For platform operation: With trusted infrastructure providers (hosting, backup) under strict confidentiality agreements. These providers do not have access to your data beyond what is technically necessary.
• Legal requirement: If required by Indian law or a valid court order, we will notify you before complying unless prohibited from doing so.

Data Ownership

All data you enter into OraSkul — student records, fee data, results, and school configurations — belongs entirely to your school. We do not claim any ownership over your data.

You may request a complete export of your school's data at any time. For schools on our self-hosted plan, your data resides entirely on your own server and is never transmitted to our systems.

Upon termination of your subscription, we will provide you a full data export and permanently delete all copies from our servers within 30 days, upon your request.

Security

We take the security of your school's data seriously and implement the following measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS encryption
• Role-based access control — teachers, admins, and principals each have separate, limited access
• Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing (bcrypt)
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Daily automated backups with encrypted storage

While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no system can guarantee absolute security. We encourage schools to use strong passwords and report any suspected security issues to us immediately at info@oraskul.com.

Data Retention

We retain your school's data for as long as your subscription is active. After account termination:

• We retain data for up to 30 days to allow you to request an export
• After 30 days, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our servers
• Backups containing your data are also purged within this period

For self-hosted deployments, data retention is entirely under your school's control.

Your Rights

As a school administrator using OraSkul, you have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of all data associated with your school at any time
• Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate data we hold
• Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your school's data upon subscription termination
• Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (CSV/Excel)
• Objection: Object to any use of your data that goes beyond service operation

Cookies

OraSkul uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function — primarily for maintaining your login session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

• Session cookie: Keeps you logged in during your browser session
• CSRF token: Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in to OraSkul.

Children's Data

OraSkul handles student data including data of minor children as part of its core function. This data is entered by authorised school administrators only, and is used exclusively for school management purposes — generating marksheets, tracking fees, and managing records.

We do not use student data for any commercial purpose. We do not share student data with any third party. Schools are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate authorisation to enter student data into the platform.
